Sonoma Raceway
The four drivers in contention for the series championship, including Scott Dixon, Alexander Rossi, Will Power and Josef Newgarden, enjoyed a trip through the city on-board a motorized cable car today. After a ride over the Golden Gate Bridge, the drivers made stops at PIER 39, The Grotto at Fisherman’s Wharf to crack crab and finally Ghirardelli Square for some signature chocolate. The drivers take to the track this weekend for the season-ending event at Sonoma Raceway. Practice is slated for Friday, qualifying on Saturday and the green flag falls on the INDYCAR Grand Prix of Sonoma at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday. After 14 year in wine country, this will be INDYCAR’s last event at Sonoma Raceway for the foreseeable future, as the series has shifted its schedule for 2019.
